ABOUT FRANK

Acting was Frank's first career. He studied under the legendary acting teacher Stella Adler and at
the Actors Studio. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, and Actor’s Equity
Association, he performed in several off-Broadway productions and appeared in both television
and film. He graduated from the New York University School of the Arts…many years ago.

While living in Los Angeles, he and his good friend Alvin Walker decided to write a biography
of the actress Vivian Vance, known for her role in I Love Lucy. Their book, The Other Side of
Ethel Mertz: The Life Story of Vivian Vance, was published in 1998. Although Frank had every
intention of continuing his writing career, he took a detour into real estate. After several years in
Los Angeles, he moved his family—his husband, Jorge Soto Vega, along with their two dogs and
two cats—back to Brooklyn, where he had grown up.

He joined the top real estate company in New York, the Corcoran Group, and worked there for
nearly twenty years. As an associate broker, he collaborated with some amazing people and built
a successful career. Though he initially intended to write while working in real estate, his
thriving career left little time for it. Real estate was challenging and rewarding, but something
was missing—he wanted to write.

Now, after many years, he’s back on the path to writing and intends to stay on it.

He and his husband divide their time between Brooklyn, upstate New York, and Italy.

From the short story Favola

“He is going to kiss me, Valentina thought. I should move. I should stop him, I
should… but as the thought dissolved, not reaching the place where all right decisions live but one day, when it’s too late, are ultimately regretted, he took her in his arms and kissed her, deeply, with a need that had somehow taken a hold of them on the day their eyes met, when perhaps, not understanding why, all their doubts vanished and everything became crystal clear. The moment when the word love becomes just a word in songs and stories but has nothing to do with truth and with the sense of totality felt by two connected people who always knew that the other existed somewhere in the world.”
